225 Kohler Welder/Generator

The Miller Bobcat 225 Kohler pairs AC/DC welding across stick, MIG, flux-cored, and TIG with generator power built on Miller's Accu-Rated system, and comes with GFCI protection, aimed primarily at stick welding for farm, ranch, and maintenance and repair work. What it's for Rated output reaches 225 amps at a 100 percent duty cycle, with generator power delivering 11,000 watts of usable peak output for at least 30 seconds, enough for plasma cutting, running a Millermatic MIG welder, or starting a motor. Miller's Accu-Rated peak power figure reflects power you can actually use under load, rather than a short-duration surge rating. What to check before buying This is an industrial-rated, career-welder-class machine on AC/DC polarity, so plan on it being sized for frequent, sustained use rather than occasional hobby work. At 485 pounds, confirm your mounting setup, whether that is a truck bed, trailer, or stationary location, can handle the weight. Design details The engine is rotated toward the front of the unit for more efficient airflow, which Miller states reduces operating sound and keeps internal components cooler, particularly useful if the generator will run near occupied buildings or for extended stretches. A ten-degree skewed-rotor design is used to smooth out generator power rather than deliver spiked output, and the overall package carries a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
