Mercury 9.9HP 9.9EXLPT ProKicker EFI Outboard

The Mercury 9.9HP 9.9EXLPT ProKicker shares its purpose with the rest of Mercury's ProKicker line: a secondary motor for holding trolling speed, backing up a main engine, or giving that engine a break, built around steady low-speed control rather than outright power. Why buyers choose a ProKicker Extra torque is built in for better acceleration and boat control at trolling speeds, and the motor is tuned to keep a consistent throttle response across changing wind and wave conditions. Mercury also keeps the weight down so it does not strain a kicker bracket mounted beside a larger outboard, and starting is built to be fast and dependable, which matters when you are trying to get a trolling pass back on line quickly. Configuration to confirm The EXLPT tag in this name suggests an extra-long shaft with power tilt; the ProKicker line is available in remote-control or tiller-handle form, and tiller versions carry a strap at the mount that keeps the motor from swinging once it is tilted up out of the water, standard equipment on that configuration. Check the spec table on this listing for the exact shaft length and control type before ordering, since this description does not spell those out. Common questions What is a ProKicker used for? As an auxiliary trolling or backup motor alongside a larger main engine, per the listing. Does it include power tilt? Yes, for fast, effortless operation. Does the shaft length match the standard kicker? Check the spec table on this page; the EXLPT tag implies a longer option than some other ProKicker configurations.
