Mercury 9.9HP 9.9EXLHPT Command Thrust ProKicker Outboard

The Mercury 9.9HP 9.9EXLHPT Command Thrust ProKicker Outboard pairs the 9.9 hp ProKicker with a heavy-duty Command Thrust gearcase, aimed at holding a bigger, heavier boat on plane at low speed without giving up top-end performance. It runs on a carburetor, starts on an electric key, and steers with a tiller handle rather than remote controls. What makes this listing distinct This EXLHPT version carries the 25 inch extra-long shaft, tiller steering, and a dry weight of 114 lbs. Larger internal gear shafts and a deeper gearcase, paired with a high-thrust four-blade propeller, are what give it extra pushing power at idle compared with a standard outboard of the same size. Who it suits Mercury builds this shaft and gearcase pairing for sailboats, soft-hull inflatables, utility hulls, and aluminum tiller boats that need a kicker with real low-speed authority, not just top speed. What to check before buying This EXLHPT runs a 25 inch shaft, so measure your transom and kicker bracket before ordering; mounted too high or too low, a long-shaft motor will not trim correctly. Confirm tiller steering also fits how you plan to run the boat, since this is not the remote-control version. What comes with it Mercury rates the power tilt on this ProKicker as the fastest in its own lineup, lowering the motor into the water in about five seconds, and it ships with a four-blade, high-thrust aluminum Command Thrust propeller. It carries Mercury Marine's 3-year warranty. Will it hold a heavy boat on plane at trolling speed? That low-speed authority is the purpose of the Command Thrust gearcase and high-thrust propeller on this model.
