Mercury 15HP 15E EFI Outboard

The Mercury 15HP 15E EFI Outboard is a new, electric-start, fuel-injected 15 HP motor with a 15-inch short shaft and remote mechanical throttle control, weighing 99 pounds. Matching shaft and controls to your boat Mercury builds this 15 HP block in several shaft lengths and steering layouts, so check your transom height against this 15-inch short shaft before ordering, and confirm your boat is wired for remote mechanical controls rather than a tiller handle, since that is how this particular model is configured. Guessing on either point usually means a return or an install that does not fit. Why fuel injection on a small outboard Electronic fuel injection meters fuel more precisely than a carburetor, which tends to mean steadier idle and more consistent starting across a range of temperatures, without the choke adjustments a carbureted engine of the same size might need. It also tolerates sitting unused for a while better than a carburetor can. Propeller and fuel supply Mercury ships this motor with a three-blade aluminum propeller measuring 9.2 inches in diameter with a 9.1-inch pitch, plus a 3.2-gallon remote fuel tank and quick-connect fuel line, so neither needs sourcing separately. A safety lanyard stop switch is included for shutting the engine down quickly if the operator moves away from the controls. Common questions Is this a tiller or remote-steer motor? Remote mechanical throttle control, meant for console-style steering rather than a tiller arm. Is there a warranty on this motor? Yes, Mercury Marine's standard three-year coverage applies to new outboards like this one.
